S&P Global Ratings upgrades Banco BPI rating to BBB+

Banco BPI, S.A. informs that the rating agency S&P Global Ratings has upgraded the Bank's longterm debt rating from BBB to BBB+, which means a one notch increase in the investment grade scale. The short-term rating was affirmed at 'A-2'. The Outlook for the Bank's rating is stable.

This improvement reflects the recently announced sovereign rating upgrade and an improvement in Banco BPI's stand-alone credit profile, from bb+ to bbb-, supported by the revision of capital and profitability factors.
