Milan, 25 October 2018 – Banco BPM announces that today the Board of Directors of Banca Aletti & C. S.p.A. has appointed Alessandro Varaldo as the new Chief Executive. Starting from 05 November, Varaldo shall hold the position of CEO in replacement of Maurizio Zancanaro, whom we wish to thank for his many years during which he has held this position with Banca Aletti.
Alessandro Varaldo, who graduated with a degree in Financial Economics from the La Sapienza University in Rome and is a Visiting professor of Financial Economics, started his professional career as an analyst and portfolio manager in the 90s in the asset management companies Finanza e Futuro Fondi and IMI Fideuram Asset Management. He then held top management roles and positions in finance, asset management and wealth management in Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo (Banca Sanpaolo Invest, Eurizon Capital and Banca dei Territori) and in Gruppo Capitalia, then Unicredit. Between 2015 and 2018, as CEO and General Manager, he led Amundi SGR, a company of the Crédit Agricole Group.
