BAE Systems announces Revathi Advaithi to join its Board as a Non-Executive Director

The Board of BAE Systems plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Revathi Advaithi as a non-executive director of the Company with effect from 1 January 2018.  

Revathi Advaithi is the chief operating officer, Electrical Sector, for Eaton, a power management company.  In this role, she is responsible for Eaton's global electrical business with sales of $12.6bn and nearly 60,000 employees globally.  She also has corporate responsibility for its Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Since joining Eaton in 1995, Revathi led the Electrical Sector in the Americas and Asia Pacific, with a three year assignment in Shanghai.  Between 2002 and 2008 Revathi worked at Honeywell where she held several senior roles within the sourcing and supply chain functions of the aerospace sector before being named vice president and general manager of Honeywell's Field Solutions business in 2006. Revathi returned to Eaton in 2008 as vice president and general manager of the Electrical Components Division.

Revathi was born in India, has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India, and an MBA in international business from Thunderbird - Garvin School of International Business in Glendale, Arizona.  She serves on the board of governors of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association in the U.S. and on the Advisory Council for the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Energy.

Revathi Advaithi has no details to disclose under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
