Baader Wertpapierhandelsbank AG: Preliminary consolidated earnings for Q2 2006 (IFRS)

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— Unterschleissheim, 13th July 2006 Baader Wertpapierhandelsbank AG is reporting a strong increase in income from ordinary activities from EUR0.9 million in Q2 2005 to EUR3.7 million in Q2 2006. Compared to H1 2005 net profit soared from EUR1.2 million to EUR17.0 million in H1 2006. This is based on the substantially higher trading volume in the first five months in 2006 compared with 2005. The Executive Board expects further positive developments in 2006 business results, if the stock market environment will continue for the better. Shareholders’ equity as of June 30, 2006 was EUR142 million (December 31, 2005: EUR127 million). Earnings per share were EUR0.75 on the reporting date (previous year: EUR0.05). The Group employed a total of 250 people (previous year: 217 employees).
