Biography of Julian Francis

Julian Francis has more than 25 years of experience in industrial markets. Most recently, he served as CEO of Beacon Building Products, a U.S. based, Fortune 500(R) distribution company, which he led through a significant turnaround until its sale in 2025.

Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Francis was with Owens Corning, a global leader in building materials manufacturing, known for its strong focus on sustainability and safety. There he served as President of the Insulation Division and was a member of the company's Executive Committee. Julian has also held a number of general management, strategy, marketing and finance roles at Reed Elsevier, USG Corp and KPMG.

Julian grew up in Cardiff, Wales and emigrated to the US, where he has lived for more than 30 years. He holds a BSc in Mathematics and a PhD in Materials Engineering, both from Swansea University, as well as an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago.
