REQUEST FOR SUSPENSION – FREMONT PETROLEUM LIMITED (ASX: FPL)

Fremont Petroleum Limited ( Company ), ( FPL ) requested a trading halt be placed on the Company’s listed shares pending the release of an announcement of the completion of a Placement in its securities to professional and sophisticated investors.

The Company has not been able to release the announcement before the expiry of the Trading Halt. It requests the listed shares remain be placed in voluntary suspension until the announcement in relation to the acquisition can be made. The Company expects to remain in suspension for not more than 2 days.

The Company is not aware of any reason why the voluntary suspension should not be granted.
