Andrew Wallace-Barnett isappointed Chief ComplianceOfficerof AXA Anu Venkataramanjoins the Group as Head of Investor Relations

AXA announces the appointment of Andrew Wallace-Barnett, currently Head of Investor Relations, as Group Chief Compliance Officer. He will succeed Ian Johnson who has decided to retire after a successful 30-year career in the Group. Andrew will report to George Stansfield, Group Deputy CEO, General Secretary, and a Member of the AXA Group Management Committee.

Andrew Wallace-Barnett will be replaced by Anu Venkataraman, who joins from AllianceBernstein L.P. where she has built a very rich and successful career. She is currently Portfolio Manager as well as Senior Research Analyst covering financial stocks in the US and International Markets. She will take her new role on March 1st. In addition, she will take on a senior role within the Group Strategy Department, with a double reporting line to Alban de Mailly Nesle, Group Chief Financial Officer, and Georges Desvaux, Group Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, both members of AXA's Management Committee.

Biographies

Andrew Wallace-Barnett has a BSc in Mathematics and Information Science from the University of Tasmania. He joined AXA in 1988 as a Corporate Actuary at AXA Australia (previously National Mutual), where he qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. He pursued these functions as he joined AXA's headquarters in Paris in 1998. In 2005, he became Chief Risk Officer of AXA France and, in 2008, he moved to the United States as Chief Risk Officer of AXA US. Andrew has been Head of Investor Relations for the Group since 2014.

Anu Venkataraman has a Master of Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from the University of Rochester, NY. Anu then joined AllianceBernstein as an analyst covering International and Emerging market financials, in 1993. She then assumed coverage of the global insurance sector and pursued on to work on European Banks and Insurance and finally overseeing US Large-cap Financials, US Small & Mid-cap Insurance and European Insurance until today. She remains today Co-Portfolio Manager of the International Strategic Equities portfolio, Senior Research Analyst and Sector Leader for Global Financials and research coordinator for the International Strategic Core portfolio.
