Rome, August 2, 2022 - Avio has been awarded new orders totalling more than 40 million euros from MBDA. The first order is to increase the production of boosters for the Aster 30 missile system for a European and NATO member state.
The second order was signed for the development, qualification and industrialization of the initial booster propulsion system for the next-generation Teseo MK2/E anti-ship missile system for the Italian Navy. The development and qualification period for the propulsion system is consistent with the missile's development planning and the Italian Navy's requirements for the introduction of the Teseo Mk2/E into service.
Giulio Ranzo, Avio's CEO, commented: "These orders and contracts strengthen Avio's positioning in the defense sector, which is receiving increasing attention from states following the events of the recent months. We thank our partners of MBDA and the entire development team for their renewed confidence in Avio's established expertise in the Defense sector."
