Gabrielle Reijnen withdraws candidacy for Supervisory Board of Avantium

AMSTERDAM, 7 May 2019, 17:45 CET – Avantium announces that Mrs Gabrielle Reijnen has decided, for personal reasons and after careful consideration, to withdraw as proposed nominee for reappointment as member of the Supervisory Board of Avantium N.V. The Supervisory Board of Avantium respects Gabrielle Reijnen's decision. Avantium therefore withdraws agenda item 6b of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders ("reappointment of Mrs. G. Reijnen") to be held on 15 May 2019.

Kees Verhaar, chairman of the Supervisory Board, said: "The Supervisory Board, together with the Management Board, would like to express its appreciation and gratitude for Gabrielle Reijnen's dedication and contributions to Avantium over the past years. We wish her every success."

The Supervisory Board will start the selection process for a new Supervisory Board member. Avantium will make further announcements as soon as appropriate.
