Appointment of new Fund Manager
Australian Unity Investment Real Estate Limited ( AUIREL ), as Responsible Entity of Australian Unity Office Fund ( ASX: AOF ) announces the appointment of Nikki Panagopoulos as AOF’s Fund Manager.
Nikki joined Australian Unity in 2004 and is currently Fund Manager, Australian Unity Diversified Property Fund ( DPF ), a position she has held since 2010. Nikki has been responsible for the strategic growth and commercial management of DPF, implementing strategic initiatives as well as asset management and repositioning strategies that have resulted in outperformance of the benchmark and peers, over the 10-year period.
Nikki has more than 25 years’ experience in unlisted and listed property markets with a key focus on investor relations, setting and implementing strategy (including acquisitions, disposals, new and existing lease negotiations), project and development management as well as people leadership. Prior to joining Australian Unity, Nikki was an Investment Analyst for Deutsche Bank’s $1.5 billion listed Deutsche Diversified Trust. Nikki also spent 12 years in Property Funds Management at AXA (formerly National Mutual).
Nikki will be supported by the dedicated management team of AOF, including Simon Beake (Assistant Fund Manager) and Giovanna Reale (Senior Asset Manager). In addition, Australian Unity has recently recruited Peter Hugh as a Senior Development Manager and is in the final stages of recruiting a further Senior Asset Manager, both to be part of the expanded dedicated AOF management team. More broadly AOF will continue to be supported by the resourcing and expertise of the Australian Unity property team. The board of AUIREL welcomes Nikki to her new role.
James Freeman will step down as AOF Fund Manager effective 7 July 2021, to pursue an opportunity with New South Wales Treasury Corporation (TCorp). Australian Unity and the board of AUIREL would like to thank James for his contributions and wish him every success in the future.
