Changes to Australian Unity Limited’s Board
Australian Unity Limited (Australian Unity) wishes to advise of the upcoming changes to its board:
Chair
Australian Unity’s current chair, Peter Promnitz, has announced his intention to retire as a non-executive director and chair of Australian Unity with effect from the conclusion of the 2022 Annual General Meeting to be held on 26 October 2022. Lisa Chung, a current nonexecutive director, has been appointed as Chair Designate with effect from 1 August 2022 and will succeed Mr Promnitz as Australian Unity’s Chair upon his retirement.
The board would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Promnitz for his significant and valuable contribution to Australian Unity over the past nine years, in particular, the last six years as chair.
Ms Chung has been a director of Australian Unity since 30 June 2017 and her biographical details can be located on Australian Unity’s website at - - https://www.australianunity.com.au/about us/membership/board policies-charter

Melinda Cilento, a currently serving non-executive director, has been appointed as Deputy Chair Designate with effect from 1 August 2022. Ms Cilento will become Australian Unity’s Deputy Chair upon Mr Promnitz’s retirement. Ms Cilento has been a director of Australian Unity since 1 May 2014 and her biographical details can be located on Australian Unity’s website at https://www.australianunity.com.au/aboutus/membership/board-policies-charter
Other board changes
Greg Willcock has announced his intention to retire, effective 7 September 2022. The board would like to thank Mr Willcock for his contributions to the Australian Unity Group during his tenure.
The board is pleased to announce the appointment of Lucinda Brogden AM and Dr Helen Nott as non-executive directors of Australian Unity, effective 8 September 2022.
Ms Brogden has over 30 years’ commercial experience, holding a number of roles with Macquarie Group and Ernst & Young. She is currently the Chair and Commissioner of the National Mental Health Commission, Governor of the Queenwood School for Girls, the Chair of the Diabetes Research Foundation and a director of Be Kind Sydney and the National Film and Sound Archive.
Dr Nott has extensive experience within the insurance industry, holding a number of senior roles with Insurance Australia Group and QBE Australia and New Zealand. She is currently a director of the New Zealand Accident Compensation Commission, Healthdirect Australia Pty Ltd and QBE Australia Pacific. She was previously Vice President of Paralympics Australia Pty Ltd.
