Appointment of non–executive director

to Australian Unity Limited

Australian Unity Limited announced today that Ms Melinda Cilento will join the Australian Unity Limited board with effect from 1 May 2014.

Ms Cilento’s appointment follows a considered search by Australian Unity, reflecting both its board succession planning program and its plans to sustain and extend the skills and business experience of the board.

Ms Cilento has a strong track record of working collaboratively across sectors, with executive and director experience across the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. She is currently a director of Woodside Petroleum and Wesfarmers Insurance and Co-Chair of Reconciliation Australia. She worked for 8 years with the Business Council of Australia, 4 as Deputy Chief Executive, and prior to this as Head of Economics at Invesco Australia.

In announcing the new appointment, Australian Unity’s chairman, Glenn Barnes said, “We are delighted that Melinda has agreed to join the Australian Unity Limited board. Her experience, including economic policy, financial services and general management will further strengthen our board and complement our existing expertise.”
