Retirement and Appointment of Chairman of the Board of Australian Unity Limited

Australian Unity Limited wishes to advise that Mr Alan Castleman has announced his retirement as director and chairman of the board of Australian Unity Limited with effect from 31 May 2012.

The board wishes to thank Mr Castleman for his substantial contribution to the organisation over the past 18 years. He has served as chairman since joining the board at the time of its establishment through merger in 1993, and his commitment, wise counsel and leadership have been invaluable to the development of the organisation over this period.

Mr Glenn Barnes has been appointed as chairman of the board of Australian Unity Limited effective 1 June 2012. Mr Barnes is currently the deputy chairman of the board. He brings substantial experience in both senior executive and public company director roles, gained over many years with major organisations in the banking, financial services, business information, consumer goods and not-for-profit sectors.
