Appointment of non-executive director to Australian Unity Limited

Australian Unity Limited announced today that Mr Peter Promnitz will join the Australian Unity Limited board with effect from 1 January 2013.

Mr Promnitz’s appointment follows a considered search by Australian Unity, reflecting both its board succession planning program and its plans to sustain and extend the skills and business experience of the board.

Mr Promnitz’s business experience includes senior executive roles in Asia Pacific with a global organisation as well as a diverse career in financial services in Australia and New Zealand. He has led investment, superannuation, actuarial and human resource consulting businesses in both executive and non-executive capacities with a personal focus on clients, diversity and governance.

Mr Promnitz is currently executive Head of Asia Pacific for Mercer, a role he will retire from during December 2012. Mr Promnitz is a qualified actuary.
