GILES EVERIST APPOINTED TO THE BOARD

Austal Limited ( Austal ) (ASX:ASB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Giles Everist to the Company’s Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director.

Mr Everist brings a strong commercial and finance background to Austal. He has over 24 years’ experience in executive roles largely within the contracting and resources sectors, including serving as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at Monadelphous Group from 2003 to 2009.

Mr Everist’s appointment, effective on 8 November 2013, is part of a Board renewal process being undertaken by Austal.

Austal Chairman John Rothwell said the Board had sought candidates with strong finance and corporate governance experience and he was delighted to welcome Mr Everist to the Board.

“Giles has outstanding credentials and extensive finance capabilities that we feel will add great value to Austal,” Mr Rothwell said.

“The Board is looking forward to working with Giles as we progress with building on the achievements Austal has made over the past year.”

Mr Everist currently serves on the boards of three ASX-listed companies; as Non-Executive Chairman at Decmil Group, Non-Executive Director at LogiCamms Limited, and Non-Executive Director at Macmahon Holdings. He is also a Non-Executive Director at not-for-profit group Perth Home Care Services.

He previously held executive finance roles at Coopers and Lybrand, Rio Tinto, and Fluor Australia, as well as at Monadelphous.

Mr Everist is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England and Wales). He holds a Bachelor of Sciences (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh.
