AUSTAL APPOINTS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Austal is pleased to announce the appointment of former Clough Limited Acting Chief Financial Officer Richard Simons to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Richard brings a strong background in corporate finance and treasury activities. He has previously held senior positions with Arthur Andersen, GRD Limited and was a Founding Director of Mainsheet Corporate – an Australia wide strategy and corporate finance consulting firm.

Richard joined Clough Limited in 2005 where he had responsibility for a number of acquisitions and disposals, new investment opportunities, capital market transactions and investor relations.

Commenting on the appointment, Austal Managing Director Bob Browning said; “With more than 20 years experience in corporate finance, Richard will bring significant expertise and leadership to Austal’s corporate financial strategy during an exciting phase in Austal’s development.”

Richard will officially commence with Austal in February 2010 and be based at Austal’s headquarters in Henderson, Western Australia.
