23 March 2026
$28.8 million Strategic Placement backed by Perseus Mining
Aurum Resources (ASX: AUE, “Aurum” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce it has received firm commitments for a placement of 48,000,000 fully paid ordinary shares (“ Shares ”) at A$0.60 per share to raise A$28,800,000, before costs (the “Placement”), including a cornerstone investment by African-focused gold producer Perseus Mining Limited (ASX/TSX: PRU) ( Perseus ). Post completion, the Company will have cash on hand of more than A$60 million, providing it with the financial strength to execute its dual-project growth strategy in Côte d’Ivoire.
Highlights:
-
Perseus , Australia’s largest African-focused gold miner with a A$6.5 billion market capitalisation, is cornerstone investor of the Placement by subscribing for 39,476,824 shares (A$23,686,094) to hold 9.9% of Aurum on completion and on an undiluted basis.
-
Perseus operates the Sissingué Gold Mine located approximately 60km north of Aurum’s flagship Boundiali Gold Project, within the same Birimian greenstone belt. Perseus’ Bagoé mining lease sits immediately east of Aurum’s BM exploration permit, creating clear potential for strategic synergies and shared infrastructure as Aurum advances toward development.
-
Existing unrelated Aurum shareholders have also participated in the Placement.
-
Managing Director Dr Caigen Wang intends to subscribe for 1,400,000 Shares (A$840,000) as part of the Placement, subject to shareholder approval to be sought in May 2026.
-
Placement price of A$0.60 per share sits above Aurum’s last close of $0.595 on 18 March 2026 and is just below the five-day VWAP of A$0.609 at 20 March 2026.
-
Cash balance of more than A$60M post-raise underpins Aurum’s aggressive 130,000m drilling program in CY2026 (100,000m Boundiali; 30,000m Napié) and advancement of the Boundiali Feasibility Study, with the PFS targeted for delivery in April 2026 and the DFS in Q4 CY2026.
-
Shares will be issued under Aurum’s existing ASX Listing Rule 7.1 and 7.1A placement capacity and , other than with respect to the issue to Dr Caigen Wang (of 1,400,000 Shares for A$840,000), does not require shareholder approval. Dr Wang’s participation in the Placement will require shareholder approval Listing Rule 10.11 which will be sought in May 2026.
Aurum’s Managing Director Dr. Caigen Wang said: “Perseus Mining’s decision to cornerstone this Placement is a powerful endorsement of the quality of Aurum’s asset base and our project development trajectory. Perseus is not just Australia’s most successful African gold producer and developer – it is our nearest neighbour.
Perseus’s Sissingué mining operation sits approximately 60km to the north of Boundiali BMT1 deposit, in the same greenstone belt, and its Bagoé mining lease adjoins our BM exploration permit. This proximity creates genuine potential for strategic synergies as both companies develop our respective projects in northern Côte d’Ivoire.
With more than A$60M of cash on hand post-raise, Aurum is funded to execute on our 2026 drilling campaign of 130,000m across Boundiali and Napié, deliver the Boundiali Feasibility Study, and continue growing our resource inventory. We are advancing from explorer to developer, and this Placement – backed by one of the region’s foremost operators – gives our broader shareholder base further confidence in Aurum’s path to production."

-
Drilling fleet expansion : Aurum will purchase another two drilling rigs to grow its owner-operator fleet to 14 in-house diamond drill rigs, which continue to demonstrate a cost and speed advantage over peers.
-
Corporate and working capital.
