Mr. Jürgen Schachler appointed new Executive Board Chairman of Aurubis AG

Hamburg, October 2, 2015 - In its meeting today, the Aurubis AG Supervisory
Board unanimously voted to appoint Mr. Jürgen Schachler as Executive Board
Chairman. He will succeed Dr. Bernd Drouven, who will be returning to the
Supervisory Board on November 1, 2015 after a one-year dispatch to the
Executive Board. Mr. Schachler is scheduled to take on his new role on
April 1, 2016.

Mr. Jürgen Schachler will be switching to Aurubis AG from his current
position as CEO of ArcelorMittal Europe, Flat Products, Business Division
South West. Until then, Aurubis will be led by Executive Board Members Dr.
Stefan Boel and Erwin Faust.
