Aukett Swanke, the international group of architects and interior designers is pleased to announce the appointment today of John Bullough as a non-executive director.

John has over 40 years of international experience in property development and investment, and has led numerous large multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of complex commercial, leisure and infrastructure developments. He is a chartered surveyor and a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and is a past president of the British Council of Shopping Centres.

Following 18 years with Grosvenor, John joined ALDAR Properties in Abu Dhabi in 2007, initially as Chief Operating Officer, becoming Chief Executive in October 2008 until April 2011.  ALDAR is one of the largest developers in the Middle East and North Africa region, with over USD 12 billion of assets.

John currently serves in an advisory capacity to Henderson Global Investors and Kerma Partners, and is a non-executive director of the Howard Group. He is also a trustee of CSV, a volunteering and learning charity helping people to take an active role in their communities.
