AudioCodes and Outsmart Collaborate to Deliver Complete Fixed-Mobile-Convergence Solution
Combined solution allows operators to offer the same services across all networks and devices, bringing mobile features and applications into the fixed environment
Lod, Israel, February 9, 2005 – AudioCodes (NASDAQ: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products, and Outsmart Ltd., a provider of Fixed-Mobile-Convergence (FMC) and Intelligent Networks (IN)-based solutions, today announced a collaboration to deliver a complete FMC solution which integrates Outsmart’s SmartFMC™ product with AudioCodes’ Mediant™ family of converged (wireline/wireless) Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Media Gateways.
The joint offering brings a readily available and working, end-to-end fixed-mobile-convergence solution that provides a base for next-generation 3G IMS architecture and services. The Mediant™ converged media gateways consist of market-ready, standards-compliant, cost-effective converged VoIP media gateway platforms that can scale from low-density wireless enterprise networks up to

high-density core network deployments. By supporting wireline, cable and wireless (UMTS, GSM and CDMA) in the same gateway, the Mediant™ gateways provide a unique solution specifically suited for Fixed-Mobile-Convergence applications. The SmartFMC™ enables operators to provide the same services to fixed and mobile users, irrespective of location, access technology and terminals. Utilizing the existing core network and back office systems, the SmartFMC™ delivers one identity across a variety of terminals, allows full control on all call sessions, provides the same services as both fixed and mobile networks and allows full management capabilities including CRM, billing and customer care.
