AudioCodes Announces New Analog Media Gateways to Support Service Provider and Enterprise Voice over IP Applications
New AudioCodes gateways provide high-quality, feature-rich solution enabling largescale deployments and new market opportunities for service providers
Lod Israel , March 10, 2005 – Today at CeBIT, AudioCodes (Nasdaq: AUDC ), a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products, announced new analog VoIP media gateways as additions to its existing MediaPack ™ product line. The MediaPack 112, MediaPack 114 and MediaPack 118 are the latest members of AudioCodes analog media gateway product line addressing the requirements of service providers and enterprises seeking high-quality, cost-effective, analog media gateways.
As VoIP becomes attractive, and more service providers are choosing to deploy it, the new MediaPack series addresses the service provider’s needs for MTU and Hosted Services applications. Dense residential areas present a need for gateway installation within the complex, building’s wiring closet, or in the street cabinet serving as MTUs, and providing VoIP services. Service providers taking advantage of the Broadband access growth can offer enterprises the MediaPack to enable VoIP using their existing phones, key systems and PBXs. Enterprises moving to IP PBX platforms can benefit from local PSTN connectivity and legacy PBXs that interconnect using the MediaPack gateways.

The MediaPacks enable a wide range of applications including converged access, IP Centrex, fixed-mobile convergence, and next generation PBXs. Simultaneous mixed interfaces of FXS and FXO, survivability, guaranteed QoS, security and standard billing interfaces are examples of additional features in the new hardware and software of the MediaPack product line. Integration with AudioCodes’ Element Management System allows fast deployment and maintenance of large and complex networks for large scale service provider deployments.
“We are witnessing an increasing demand for high-quality cost-effective analog media gateways. More and more service providers are realizing that offering VoIP generates a new revenue stream, and guarantees customer satisfaction and loyalty,” said Michael Grosman, Director of Product Marketing at AudioCodes. “The new generation of MediaPack analog media gateways represents AudioCodes’ continuous investment and commitment to provide carriers and enterprises with the necessary infrastructure to support the demands of their growing VoIP subscriber base.”
The MediaPack 112, 114 and 118 provide support for 2, 4 and 8 ports of FXS and FXO connectivity. Based on AudioCodes’ acclaimed VoIPerfect ™ architecture, the new gateways benefit from the extensive market experience of AudioCodes analog media gateways. The MP-112/4/8 incorporate the technology that achieved outstanding voice quality results in the latest “Speech Quality Test Event” held by ETSI.
AudioCodes will be exhibiting at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany, from March 10-16, 2005 in Hall 13, booth #A33. AudioCodes products including the new line of MediaPacks will be on display.
