AudioCodes Announces Industry Breakthrough in 8 E1/T1 Trunks IPM-260 PCI VoIP Media Processing Board

Field Proven IPM-260 Board Now Offers Developers a Wide Density Range for Media Processing and Enterprise Applications in PCI Platforms

Lod, Israel – March 17, 2004 – AudioCodes (NASDAQ: AUDC), a leading provider of Voice over Packet (VoP) technologies and Voice Network products, today announced the availability of the 8 E1/T1 trunks version of its widely deployed IPM-260 PCI VoIP media processing board.

The IPM-260 offers developers increased capabilities for creating PCI-based platforms for enhanced voice services and enterprise applications. Offered in a variety of densities from 1, 2, 4 and now 8 E1/T1s on a single PCI slot, the IPM-260 is an excellent building block for a diverse range of VoIP gateways, IP-enabled contact centers, media servers, conferencing servers, PSTN and IP IVR solutions and Color Ring Back Tone Applications.

Selected features of this new IPM-260 include:

  • Supports 8 E1/T1s and 240 media processing channels on a single slot.
  • 240 conferencing resource capabilities (IP/TDM) – up to 64 participants per single conference.
  • Feature-rich enhanced voice services such as Record and Playback, Voice Detectors and Energy Detectors.
  • Supports Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, Linux and Solaris OS.

The 8 span E1/T1 IPM-260 is currently available to AudioCodes customers for beta testing and is scheduled for general availability in the second quarter of 2004.

AudioCodes will be exhibiting at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany from March 18th through March 24th in Hall 13, Booth #33. Media gateway products to be displayed will include AudioCodes’ IPM-260, TP-6310, Mediant 5000, Mediant 2000, MP-124 and MP-104.

The IPM-260 features include support for PSTN protocols such as ISDN PRI and multiple CAS variants, SIGTRAN (M3UA, M2UA, IUA), VoIP streaming, voice recording and playback, various voice coders including G.711, G.723.1, G.729 and many more, G.168 2002 echo cancellation, real-time fax over IP/T.38, wide selection of in-band/out-band tone detection and generation, answer detection; energy detection. The board is controlled via industry standard network control protocols including MGCP (RFC 2705), MEGACO (H.248), SIP and AudioCodes’ proprietary API.
