Brisbane, Australia – Audeara Limited (ASX: AUA) is pleased to confirm receipt of $1,219,107 for its Research & Development Tax Incentive for the 2025 financial year (FY25).
The refund relates to Audeara’s eligible expenditure with the continuing development of its state-of-the-art headphones and innovative personal sound amplification solutions. The Company has materially benefited from the Australian Government’s R&D Tax Incentive, which has helped offset development costs, extend cash runway and accelerate progress with key international counterparties.
The Australian Federal Government’s R&D Tax Incentive is an important program that encourages companies to engage in research and development benefitting Australia by providing a tax offset. Based on Audeara’s turnover, the tax offset was 43.5% of the expenditure on eligible activities.
Following receipt of the funding, the Company has deployed $994,701 to repay its R&D loan facility (refer ASX announcement: 30 December 2024). This facility allowed the Company to increase R&D spend across its existing innovative technology solutions and new product development for global markets throughout FY25, while also realising benefits of the R&D Tax Incentive earlier. Following repayment of the facility, the Company has retained an additional $224,406 in new non-dilutive funding.
Audeara Managing Director and CEO, Dr James Fielding, said:
“This refund provides a valuable boost to our balance sheet and directly supports the momentum we’re building across global markets. The R&D tax incentive remains an important enabler of our technology roadmap which has served to turbocharge our intellectual property portfolio, while also reducing development costs, eliminating debt, and ensuring we can continue delivering high-impact products while preserving shareholder value.”
This announcement has been authorised by the board of Audeara Limited.
