Results for the 3rd Quarter of FY 2002-03 ended December 31, 2002 Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Results for the 3rd Quarter of FY 2002-03 ended December 31, 2002 AT&S AG, Leoben, Austria, January 28, 2003. AT&S continued to develop favourably in the 3rd quarter of fiscal 2002-03. Despite ongoing difficult economic conditions, heavy pricing pressure and start-up costs for the plant in China – which is being ramped-up according to schedule – AT&S achieved both higher total revenues and also operating results for the third successive quarter. Satisfactory capacity utilization and the ongoing cost reduction program had a favourable impact on profitability. – Total revenues for the nine months period reached EUR 205.2 million compared with EUR 204.1 million in the previous year. Revenues in the 3rd quarter of EUR 76.4 million were up 15.7% from the previous quarter. – Results according to US GAAP (in EUR millions, EPS in EUR): 1Q-3Q 02-03 Margin 1Q-3Q 01-02 Margin Gross profit 37.3 18.2% 29.9 14.7% EBIT 16.4 8.0% (3.3) (1.6)% EBITDA 44.6 21.7% 25.8 12.7% EPS 0.32 (0.14) – Net cash provided by operating activities in the amount of EUR 39.6 million was increased by 47% in comparison with the first nine months of the previous fiscal year. As a result, despite the construction costs for the plant in China net debt of EUR 55.5 million was only slightly up from the previous quarter (EUR 48.0 million).
