Atlantic Grupa Acquires Remaining 25% of Health Institution Bamapharm

Atlantic Grupa acquired the remaining 25 percent of incorporation rights to Health Institution Bamapharm after having acquired the initial 75 percent near the end of 2007. Pharmacies from this Health Institution have continued to do business as per the development strategy of the specialized stores and pharmacies under the Farmacia brand.

Farmacia, the leading Croatian private pharmacy chain, was incorporated at the beginning of 2008 and currently has 57 pharmacies and specialized stores. In 2011 Farmacia accounted for 5,8% of the overall income of Atlantic Grupa. Sales numbers were up in 2011 partially due to the opening of two new pharmacies and two specialized stores, as well as the consolidation of five pharmacies from the acquired Dvoržak Pharmacy chain.

The pharmacy business development strategy of Atlantic Grupa is geared toward expanding its presence on the pharmacy market through acquisitions of new pharmacies or health institutions, as well as opening new pharmacies or specialized stores within the framework of referent legislation.
