Press Release
Rome, 13 January 2020 – At today's meeting of Atlantia SpA's Board of Directors, the Board appointed the Director, Carlo Bertazzo, as the Company's new Chief Executive Officer, assigning him the relevant powers.
"I am very pleased that Atlantia can benefit from the extensive experience of Carlo Bertazzo, a manager who knows the Company and the Group very well, and his significant expertise acquired whilst working for major listed and unlisted companies operating in the infrastructure and other sectors," said Chairman, Fabio Cerchiai. "Atlantia is an industryleading holding company that, despite the delicate and difficult position it now finds itself in, has enormous growth and development potential through its Italian and overseas subsidiaries and investees; potential that the new management team will undoubtedly know how to exploit," added Mr Cerchiai.
Carlo Bertazzo, 54, has been a member of Atlantia SpA's Board of Directors since April 2013. He is currently a director at Edizione and at the subsidiaries Abertis Infraestructuras and Autostrade per l'Italia, as well as at Cellnex Telecom; by the end of February 2020 he will leave instead his position as sole director of Sintonia and as General Manager of Edizione. In the past, Carlo Bertazzo has held the role of CEO of Gemina and Deputy Executive Chairman of Aeroporti di Roma, prior to Gemina's merger with Atlantia.
