PLACEMENT OF RIGHTS ISSUE SHORTFALL

Athena Resources Ltd (ASX:AHN) (“Company”) has placed the shortfall of the recent nonrenounceable rights issue as announced on 16 June 2009 being a total of 2,080,329 fully paid ordinary shares (“Shares”) at 3 cents per share to clients of Patersons Securities Limited pursuant to a private placement to sophisticated investors to raise the balance of $62,410.

The shares have been allotted and will be issued into the issuer sponsored sub register on 26 June 2009. The Directors are very pleased to have successfully completed the rights issue and with the level of shareholder support.
