ASX Board Renewal

The Board of ASX Limited (ASX) today announces the appointment of Dr Kenneth (Ken) Henry AC as a nonexecutive director of the company effective 1 February 2013. This appointment is part of ASX’s continuing Board renewal process, as foreshadowed at ASX’s 2012 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and outlined by the Chairman in the 2012 Annual Report.

Dr Henry will stand for election as a director at ASX’s 2013 AGM.

ASX Chairman, Mr Rick Holliday-Smith, welcomed Ken Henry to the ASX, saying: “Ken’s reputation and experience as an economist in Australia and overseas, and as a senior bureaucrat who has worked with successive Australian governments, will bring fresh perspectives and strengthen the expertise of the ASX Board.”

Dr Henry served as the Secretary of the Department of the Treasury from 2001 to 2011. He is a director of National Australia Bank and Chairman of the Institute of Public Policy (Crawford School of Public Policy) at the Australian National University (ANU). Dr Henry is Chairman of the Advisory Council of the SMART Infrastructure Facility, University of Wollongong, and a Member of the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation, ANU, the Advisory Board of the Australian Demographic and Social Research Institute (ADSRI), and the Board of Reconciliation Australia. Dr Henry is also a Governor of the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia (CEDA).
