Changes to the Board of Directors
It is with great sadness that Astron Corporation Limited (ASX:ATR) (“Astron”) advises that Mr Alexander Brown, President and Managing Director, passed away on 30 November 2019.
Alex was the driving force behind Astron for many decades and a pioneer in establishing Astron’s heavy mineral sands trading and processing business in China and acquisition of HMS materials in Australia and Africa.
Mme Kang Rong, B.E. (Chem), the current Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Managing Director, has now been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Astron with immediate effect. There are no changes to her terms of engagement, other than the change in her title.
Mr Tiger Brown has now been appointed as a director of Astron. Tiger has been working in Astron’s business for a number of years. Tiger studied business finance at Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Tiger is the son of Alex Brown and Mme Kang Rong.
In the medium term, Astron will review its board structure and consider if any other changes are necessary.
