ASTRON LIMITED APPOINTS A NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Astron Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Hayden Stockdale as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 January 2012.

Until now Mr Stockdale has been an executive director at Goldman Sachs Asia LLC heading their natural resources equity financing team across the Asia Pacific region. Previously he ran the natural resources equity financing business in Australia as a partner at Goldman Sachs & Partners Australia. He will relocate from Hong Kong to Melbourne.

Mr Stockdale has extensive experience in assisting mining companies through high growth phases and in particular through the development and financing of mining projects. He will bring a wealth of experience to Astron as it seeks to grow, including the development of its Donald Mineral Sands project in north western Victoria. At Goldman Sachs he previously assisted Astron on the divestment of its Chinese downstream minerals sands processing operations in 2008.

Mr Stockdale holds honours degrees in law and commerce from the University of Melbourne.
