GENERAL TEXT AMENDMENT

The following amendment has been made to the 'Block Listing Application' announcement released on 17 January 2014 at 7.00am under RNS No 8238X.

The names of the employee share plans under which the shares will be issued have been added.

All other details remain unchanged.

BLOCK LISTING APPLICATION

A block listing application has been made for 10,000,000 Ordinary Shares of $0.25 each in AstraZeneca PLC (the "Company") to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange.

Admission is expected to become effective on 20 January 2014.

The shares will be issued fully paid and will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing ordinary shares of the Company and will be issued pursuant to the following employee share plans:

AstraZeneca Share Option Plan

AstraZeneca Savings-Related Share Option Plan

AstraZeneca All-Employee Share Plan

AstraZeneca PLC 2012 Savings-Related Share Option Scheme
