Amlin plc announces that Brian Carpenter, CEO of Amlin UK, has decided to retire in 2014.  Robert Lawther, Deputy Underwriting Director of Amlin UK will take on interim leadership of AUK's property and liability underwriting with immediate effect. 

To ensure a smooth transition to new underwriting leadership, Brian will hand over his remaining responsibilities for Amlin UK by the end of January 2014.  From February until his retirement, Brian will take on a role in Group Underwriting, using his considerable experience to contribute to the strategic development of the Group. 

Charles Philipps, Amlin plc's CEO commented: "Brian has made a significant contribution to Amlin, in particular in building Amlin UK over the last decade. Amlin UK has an excellent underwriting team who we are confident can continue the successful record established by Brian."
