Assura completes Sudbury Community Health Centre

Assura Group Limited ("Assura"), the leading primary care property investor and developer, confirms that it has reached practical completion of its development of the Sudbury Community Health Centre.

The 3,350m2 facility, developed at a cost of £8.2 million has a rent roll of £0.55 million on a 20 year lease to NHS Property Services.

In addition to the GP practice, the state of the art building will deliver a wide range of services to the local population including paediatrics, dermatology, audiology, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, X-ray, podiatry, dentistry, mental health, community midwifery, diagnostics, and pharmacy. This will reduce the burden on hospitals and other secondary care facilities thereby benefitting both the NHS and the local communities.

Following the completion Assura now owns 254 medical centres and has a contracted rent roll of £54.9 million.

Graham Roberts, CEO of Assura commented:

"This exemplar facility is at the forefront of primary care service provision by enabling the delivery of a wide range of community based services. Both the property and the range of service providers is entirely in line with NHS England's Five Year Forward View announced by their CEO Simon Stevens, in which he said that the country needs the improved primary care services that will be delivered by developments like Sudbury."
