Further announcement regarding Illovo Sugar Limited

Shareholders are referred to the announcement released today by Illovo Sugar Limited ("Illovo"), Associated British Foods plc ("ABF") 51.35% held subsidiary, whereby it confirms that discussions are continuing over ABF's non-binding expression of interest to Illovo, to potentially acquire all the remaining issued ordinary shares of Illovo that ABF does not already own.

Shareholders are reminded that at this stage there can be no certainty that the discussions will result in a transaction.  A further announcement will be made in due course.
