The 2015 - 16 year has not started well and the subsidiary British Polar Engines has continued to experience reduced sales especially from the oil sector. The Board of British Polar Engines Limited conducted a review of the operations and the structure. Jim Duncan the operations director and a managing director has resigned and Bill Girdwood has become sole managing director. The Board is making an assessment of the market place and is likely to conclude that, despite the drop in oil prices and the slow down in the North Sea, there are still market opportunities for the company to explore further.
