Response to media article in The Australian
Aspen Group (ASX: APZ) refers to an article appearing in The Deal Journal section of The Australian today (page 28) and notes the following:
With respect to Board composition, Aspen has an ongoing strategy to enhance the Board with suitable candidates with the right levels of experience, skills and commercial acumen pertinent to the business. Consistent with the Notice of Meeting announced on 22 October 2012, Mr Terry Budge has signaled an intention to retire as a director once a suitable appointment of non-executive director has been made. In the meantime, Aspen notes that no new appointment has been made.
Consistent with announcements made to the market on 24 September 2012, Aspen reiterates that part of its ongoing strategy is to conduct a structured exit from its residential and commercial development businesses, which are considered non-core. This will provide scope to streamline the business and de-risk earnings moving forward.
Statements made in the article concerning the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, ‘liquidation’ of assets and discussions with other businesses are refuted and are factually incorrect.
