Mt Port e r MMP Progress R e port

Sydney, 15 December 2015: Ark Mines Ltd (ASX: AHK) is now engaged in undertaking the environmental work necessa r y to procure approval of its Mine Managem e nt Plan (MMP) for the Mt. Porter gold mine in P i ne Creek, Northern Territory.

AHK’s MMP program is on ti m e and on budget.

The company is currently wo r king towards the following timetable:

  • submission of the M M P by April 2016;

  • approval of the MMP by June 2016; and

  • mining Mt. Porter fro m June 2016.

Over the last few weeks, consultants from Northern Resource Consultin g Group (NRC) have been on site undertaking various studies including:

  • waste management;

  • waste characterisatio n ;

  • ground water;

  • surface water;

  • soils;

  • flora and fauna; and

  • other necessary studi e s.

AHK’s Managing Director, Ro g er Jackson said:

“The environmental work is p r ogressing well, and we are confident NRC w ill provide a robust Mine Management plan for M t Porter. Work will continue through the wet season with the view of having the job compl e ted at the end of the wet”.

“We will work closely with the Northern Territory Department of Mines a nd Energy and the Northern Territory Environm e ntal Protection Authority, so as to produce a Management Plan that is responsible and robus t .”

Additional work that AHK pla n s to commence in January 2016 includes:

  • finalising the Mt. Port e r mining pit design;

  • the appointment of a mining contractor to extract and deliver M t . Porter ore to the Union Reef mill; and

  • finalising agreements f or road access for the transport of Mt. Port e r Ore.
