Priority Nickel Targets at the Rocky Gully East Project, WA

  • Rocky Gully East (E70/4436) which covers an area of 269km [2] located in the Albany Fraser Belt has been granted by the WA Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP).

  • Rocky Gully East is host to four (4) Priority Nickel Targets and is yet to be systematically explored for Magmatic Nickel Sulphide deposits.

  • Priority Nickel Target M34 is characterised by a significant magnetic intrusive bullseye and coincident historical intersections of 10m at 1162ppm Ni from shallow drilling.

  • Sampling, Geophysics and drilling are being organised in conjunction with drilling of the recently approved program for the High Priority M19 and M20 Nickel targets.

PLD Corporation Limited (ASX:PLD) (“PLD” or “the Company”) is pleased to advise that the Rocky Gully East Tenement, which is host to four (4) priority Nickel targets, has recently been granted by the WA DMP. Rocky Gully East forms part of the Rocky Gully Project, which covers approximately 1,200km [2] located in the Albany Fraser Belt, WA (Figure 1).

The Albany Fraser Belt is considered analogous to the prolific Thompson and Cape Smith Belts in Canada, being host to multiple Proterozoic Magmatic Nickel-Copper Sulphide deposits. The analogy has been demonstrated by the recent discovery of the Nova-Bollinger Nickel-Copper Deposit, by Sirius Resources Limited (ASX:SIR).

Rocky Gully East covers an area of 269km [2] and is underlain by the Proterozoic rocks of the Biranup Gneiss. Late stage mafic to ultramafic intrusions have been identified in the area, usually in close association with mafic and high magnesium rocks suggesting magmatic differentiation of the ultramafic bodies, being ideal hosts for Proterozoic Magmatic Nickel Sulphide Deposits.

Rocky Gully East is host to 4 Priority Targets identified from evaluation of available magnetic data which highlighted significant magnetic intrusive bullseye targets. Further evaluation of historical sampling and drilling confirmed the M34 Target as a priority with coincident and highly anomalous historical intersections of 10m at 1162ppm Ni from historical shallow aircore drilling.

With the recent granting of the Rocky Gully East Tenement by the WA DMP, the company is now accelerating and organizing the sampling, geophysics and drilling of the 4 Priority Nickel targets, including the M34 Nickel Target, and in conjunction with the recently approved and planned 3,000m drilling program at the High Priority M19 and M20 Nickel Targets.
