Release of early results from ongoing evaluation study with Smith & Nephew in UK presented at the annual health care conference "Wounds UK".

Biotec Pharmacon has received results presented as posters from two of the

clinical centers in the Smith & Nephew evaluation trial on Woulgan® Biogel. The

posters were presented at the health care conference in Harrogate, London called

"Wounds UK".

The City Health Care Partnership in Hull and Croydon Health Services in London

presented results from 16 patients with leg ulcers and 11 patients with diabetic

foot ulcers, all treated with Woulgan® Biogel. The clinicians observing

treatment of the 16 leg ulcer patients reported that all ulcers experienced

improved healing during the treatment period and that patients experienced less

pain and improved comfort compared to previous therapies. Patient concordance

with the treatment was surprisingly high. 93% of patients assessed the treatment

effect as "very good", whereas the remaining 7% assessed it as "good".

For the 11 diabetic foot ulcer patients, it was reported that Woulgan® Biogel

was easily applied to the ulcers saving clinician treatment time, had no side

effects and improved the healing of some of these chronic ulcers.
