19 January 2021 ASX Announcement: AR9
archTIS Subsidiary Nucleus Cyber Renews Annual Software Subscription License with the Australian Department of Defence
-
archTIS subsidiary Nucleus Cyber has successfully renewed an annual software subscription license contract with the Australian Department of Defence.
-
archTIS completed the acquisition of Nucleus Cyber in December 2020 and the renewal of this subscription license is a strong endorsement of the shared products and sales team capabilities of the merged businesses.
-
The renewal of this contract also demonstrates the value, quality and uniqueness of the NC Protect product and its Attribute-based access controls (ABAC) security model with the Microsoft software stack for the Australian Department of Defence.
-
With this renewal, the Group’s recurring annual subscription revenue from the Australian Department of Defence is now $950,000.
Nucleus Cyber acquisition is immediately delivering value
archTIS Limited (ASX:AR9) is pleased to announce that the Australian Department of Defence has renewed its annual software subscription license for the NC Protect product through archTIS’ newly acquired subsidiary Nucleus Cyber. The NC Protect solution leverages existing technology investments to provide a simpler, faster and cheaper solution to tailor information protection for file sharing, messaging and chat across an organisation’s collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Office 365—SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange and Yammer, Dropbox, Nutanix Files and Windows file shares.
The annual contract value for the NC Protect subscription renewal is $148,866.
archTIS continues to expand its Defence footprint
This is archTIS’ second software license contract win with the Department of Defence this financial year for securing their information sharing capabilities. It follows archTIS $4.2 million contract win in September to lead risk reduction activities relating to cross-domain classified information sharing, which included $750,000 annual licenses for Kojensi (archTIS’ secure information sharing platform for classified information).
These wins follow the recent announcement by the Australian Government that it will spend $15 billion on Defence information management and cyber security over the next 10 years.
Kurt Mueffelmann, archTIS Global COO and US President, said: “I am delighted that the Australian Department of Defence has renewed its subscription of NC Protect to safeguard sensitive information. It’s great to provide immediate validation of our products and shared sales team capabilities so soon after the acquisition. Defence is a joint customer of Nucleus Cyber and archTIS. archTIS and Nucleus Cyber attributed based access control (ABAC)

technology platforms and shared customer base validate this modern approach to protecting highly sensitive data across the world’s most classified networks. We look forward to the continued expansion of the Defence relationship.”
Daniel Lai, archTIS Managing Director, said: “This renewal demonstrates the strategic value of the Nucleus Cyber acquisition. It provides our customers with a range of policy enforcement products to secure and share their information assets. The merger now means archTIS can provide award-winning products to secure our clients Microsoft business applications. The Defence renewal validates the quality and uniqueness of NC Protect. This renewal and our recent Kojensi sales strongly position archTIS as a key provider of information security products to the Australian Department of Defence. This is an exciting time for archTIS as it continues to successfully execute our strategy to become the global leader of policy enforcement in the protection and sharing of sensitive and classified information.”
