Hudson withdraws Archer s249D Notice

Hudson Investment Group Limited ( Hudson ) (ASX: HGL), holds 11,721,249 fully paid ordinary shares in Archer Exploration Limited (ASX:AXE) ( Archer ) through its wholly owned subsidiary Raffles Equities Limited ( Raffles ) representing an 18.2% interest.

On 12[th] April 2010, Raffles requested the directors of Archer to call a general meeting for the purpose of electing Mr John Dawkins, former Federal Treasurer to its board. The request was made pursuant to s249D of the Corporations Act.

Hudson nominated Mr Dawkins to the Archer B oard in order to add his vast business and political experience to the Archer mix, confident that his appointment would enhance Archer’s value.

Archer today advised the ASX (see attached) that Mr Dawkins has been appointed to the Archer Board, accordingly Hudson has withdrawn its request to hold a general meeting to consider his appointment.

FORMER FEDERAL TREASURER APPOINTED A DIRECTOR OF ARCHER

Archer Exploration Limited (ASX code: AXE) is pleased to announce the appointment of former Federal Treasurer, Mr John Dawkins, as a Director of the Company.

The appointment is effective from 30 April 2010.

The Company warmly welcomes Mr Dawkins to its Board. He brings substantial business and political acumen to Archer at a time its manganese, iron, nickel, copper and gold projects in South Australia are achieving project milestones and attracting increasing interest from potential joint venture or other like-minded partners.

Mr Dawkins will join Executive Chairman, Mr Greg English (a qualified mining engineer and lawyer), and Directors, Mr Tom Phillips AO, (former CEO of Mitsubishi Australia), Ms Alice McCleary (Chartered Accountant and member of the Takeovers Panel) and Mr Gerard Anderson (Managing Director of emerging SA iron ore producer, Centrex Metals) on the Board of Archer.

In light of the appointment decision, Raffles Equities Limited has agreed to withdraw the Section 249D notice to call a shareholder meeting that was received on 12 April 2010.
