Archer announces management succession

The Board of Archer Exploration Limited (ASX code: “AXE”) advises that the Company’s current Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mike Hatcher will retire from the position late next month.

Archer Non-Executive Director, Mr Gerard Anderson, will assume the role of interim Managing Director from that time.

Paying tribute to Mr Hatcher today, Archer Chairman, Mr Greg English, said:

"The Board applauds and publicly acknowledges the significant contribution Mike has made to Archer with all of our shareholders, employees and stakeholders with an interest in this business, benefiting from his drive and focus.

“He has steered Archer along a path where the Company has now successfully assembled a strong pipeline of copper, gold, manganese, iron, base metals, uranium and phosphate projects across South Australia. In particular, he was instrumental in potentially transforming Archer through the acquisition of the Leigh Creek magnesite project in South Australia’s north.”

In reply, Mr Hatcher said he sincerely thanked the Company and its shareholders for their support and he looked forward to staying involved with the Company on an advisory basis.

From 25 October, Mr Anderson will assume the role of interim Managing Director pending a final Board decision on the appointment of a successor CEO.

Mr Anderson has been a Non-Executive Director of Archer since July 2008 and is an experienced and well respected geologist with more than 30 years experience in exploration and mine geology. He has held many senior management positions, including most recently, Managing Director of ASX listed Centrex Metals.
