Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers

On February 2, 2012, the Board of Directors of Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (ADM) elected Alan L. Boeckmann as a Director of ADM to serve a term expiring at the 2012 annual meeting of stockholders. Mr. Boeckmann will serve on the Nominating/Corporate Governance and Compensation/Succession Committees. A copy of the press release announcing the election of Mr. Boeckmann is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
