ARCADIS NOMINATES NEIL MCARTHUR AS MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD

April 4, 2011 – ARCADIS (NYSE EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consultancy, design, engineering and management services company, announced today that its Supervisory Board will nominate Mr. Neil C. McArthur for appointment to become a member of the Executive Board of ARCADIS NV as of September 1, 2011. This nomination will be on the agenda of the General Meeting of Shareholders which is scheduled for May 18, 2011. Mr. McArthur is the intended successor of Mr. Jaski, who stepped down from the Executive Board on October 1, 2010.

Neil McArthur (49) holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow and is a chartered Mechanical Engineer M.I.Mech.Eng. He started his career at Shell International Petroleum Maatschappij B.V. Exploration & Production as project manager from 1982 to 1989, where he worked on large capital investment projects in Qatar and for the NAM in Assen, the Netherlands. After obtaining his MBA at INSEAD, Fontainebleau (France) in 1990, he joined Booz Allen Hamilton, now Booz & Company, a leading international strategy management consulting company. As a member of the Global Executive Committee and Managing Director Europe, he was responsible for the activities in 15 European countries. Furthermore in the role of Senior Vice President, he has worked in international multidisciplinary teams to serve Fortune 500 clients in the global energy, chemicals and utilities markets. In addition to operationally leading a global top tier consultancy firm, he has also gained in depth experience in strategy development and implementation; in managing major acquisition processes; and in optimizing business performance and operating models for his clients. Mr. McArthur, originally a Scot, lives in the Netherlands for already over 25 years.
