Appointments in the Supervisory Board and Executive Board of Arcadis

May 7, 2013 – ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the leading pure play global engineering and consultancy firm, today announced that during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) that was held today several (re)appointments have been made to its Executive Board and its Supervisory Board. Mr. Niek Hoek was appointed to the Supervisory Board for a period of four years, while Ms. Ruth Markland and Mr. Armando Perez and Mr. George Nethercutt were reappointed to the Supervisory Board, also for four years. Mr. Zack Smith was appointed to the Executive Board for a period of four years, succeeding Mr. Steve Blake, who decided to retire upon the completion of his current term.

Mr. Niek Hoek (1956) has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Delta Lloyd NV since 2001 and a member of its Executive Board since 1997. Delta Lloyd is a Dutch-based company that offers a broad variety of financial products and services including insurance, asset management and banking. Prior to joining Delta Lloyd, Mr. Hoek worked 17 years for Shell in the Netherlands, UK, Malaysia and Uruguay. Mr. Hoek was CEO of Shell Uruguay and Chief Investment Officer of the Shell Pension Fund in The Netherlands. Mr. Hoek is a Supervisory Board member at NIBC Holding NV.

Mr. Zack Smith (1956), is currently Chief Strategy and Sales Officer for ARCADIS US and a member of the board of ARCADIS Logos in Brazil. He has more than 29 years of experience managing and directing management teams to successfully provide a wide range of environmental services for large facilities throughout the US and was President of the Environment Division of ARCADIS US during 2011. Mr. Smith holds a BSc and MSc in environmental engineering and has extensive knowledge of the US and South American markets.

Commenting on the appointments Rijnhard van Tets, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ARCADIS said: "With the addition of Niek Hoek and the re-appointments in the Supervisory Board, we have a strong team in place. Shareholders also approved the dividend proposal of €0.52 per share during the Annual General Meeting, which represents an 11% dividend increase compared to last year.
