NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT
Appen Ltd (ASX: APX) (Appen) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Vanessa Liu as an independent non-executive director of the Company, effective today.
Commenting on the appointment, Appen Chairman Mr. Chris Vonwiller said “I am pleased to welcome Vanessa Liu to the Board of Appen. Vanessa is based in New York and brings to our board deep experience in the US markets, technology developments, early-stage investments as well as a global perspective in sectors critical to Appen’s future growth.”
Ms. Liu is currently a Vice President with SAP.iO, SAP SE’s early stage venture capital division. SAP.iO invests in and accelerates startups in enterprise technology. In her role, she is overseeing SAP.iO’s North American Foundries in New York and San Francisco. Prior to joining SAP.iO, she was the COO, CFO and General Counsel of Trigger Media Group, a digital media incubator in New York. Before Trigger, she was an Associate Principal in McKinsey & Company’s Telecom, Media and Technology practice, based in Amsterdam, London and New York.
Ms. Liu holds an AB (Magna Cum Laude) in behavioral neuroscience from Harvard University and a JD (Cum Laude) from Harvard Law School. She was a Fulbright Scholar at Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands.
