CORPORATE DEVELOPMENTS AND NEW BOARD APPOINTMENTS
The Board of Goldphyre Resources Limited (ASX: GPH) announces today the resignation of Chairman, Mr Ron Punch. Mr Punch has served as Executive Chairman from incorporation of the Company. The Board sincerely thanks Ron for his steadfast guidance and valued contribution to the Company through the initial phase in Goldphyre’s development.
The Board is also pleased to welcome to the Company experienced resource industry professionals Mr Matt Shackleton, Executive Chairman and Mr Dean Goodwin, NonExecutive Director.
Mr Shackleton is a Chartered Accountant who has held senior management and board positions with ASX and TSX listed companies over the past 18 years. Prior to this appointment, Mr Shackleton served as the Managing Director of Western Australian gold producer Mount Magnet South NL and is currently a non-Executive Director with ASX listed Canyon Resources Limited. Mr Shackleton has experience with and exposure to resource project exploration and developments spanning jurisdictions in Australia and overseas including South America and West Africa. He has also held senior roles with Bannerman Resources Limited, a uranium developer, Skywest Airlines, iiNet Limited and DRCM Global Investors in London.
Mr Goodwin is a geologist with over 28 years experience in mining and exploration. Whilst working with companies including Western Mining Corporation Limited, Resolute Mining Limited and Lionore Australia Nickel Limited, he has been directly involved in a number of significant gold discoveries throughout Western Australia, totalling more than 1.5 million ounces. Mr Goodwin previously served as Managing Director of ASX listed Barra Resources Limited for 6 years and has provided technical geological support to several companies including Avoca Resources Limited, Allied Gold Limited, Sipa Resources Limited, the Mark Creasy group of companies and has continued involvement with Minjar Gold Pty Ltd.
Continuing Non-Executive Director Mr Chris Clegg, commenting on the Board changes said, “We are very fortunate to have had the benefit of Ron’s experience through this first phase as a listed resource company. The Board is now very focused on driving the Company’s next phase of development with the addition of Matt and Dean to our cohesive and professional team.”
