ACCC TO RELEASE SOI ON PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF IONA GAS PLANT BY APA GROUP

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced that it will release a Statement of Issues (SOI) later this week on the proposed acquisition by APA Group (ASX: APA) (APA) of the Iona Gas Plant from EnergyAustralia.

The SOI will outline the ACCC’s preliminary concerns about the proposed acquisition.

The ACCC is announcing its decision in advance of publishing the SOI to provide APA with its preliminary view, prior to the completion of EnergyAustralia’s tender process.

The ACCC expects to publish the SOI by 2 October 2015. The ACCC will not comment further until the SOI is published.
