Standard & Poor’s to Remove Lion Nathan Limited from S&P/ASX Indices

SYDNEY, Sept. 30, 2009 - Standard & Poor’s Index Services Australia today announced that it will remove Lion Nathan Limited (ASX: LNN) from all S&P/ASX indices. The removal of Lion Nathan Limited is subject to court approval of a proposed scheme of arrangement under which the company will be taken over by Kirin Holdings Company.

Assuming the scheme receives court approval, Standard & Poor’s Index Services will remove Lion Nathan Limited from the S&P/ASX indices after the close of business on Oct. 7, 2009.

Lion Nathan Limited will be replaced by APA Group (ASX: APA) in the S&P/ASX 100. Cudeco Limited (ASX: CDU) will be added to the S&P/ASX 200 and the S&P/ASX All Australian 200 as a result of the vacancy created by the removal of Lion Nathan Limited. These changes will be made effective after the close of business on Oct. 7, 2009.
