APA BOARD CHANGES
APA Group (ASX:APA) announces the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors, Shirley In’t Veld and Peter Wasow, to the Board of Australian Pipeline Limited (APL) and the retirement of John Fletcher from the Board.
APL is the responsible entity of Australian Pipeline Trust and APT Investment Trust that together comprise APA Group.
As foreshadowed to securityholders on 27 September 2017, APA Group has been undertaking a process of Board renewal and APA Group is now pleased to announce that Shirley In’t Veld and Peter Wasow will join the Board of APL as independent, Non-Executive Directors, with effect from 19 March 2018. John Fletcher will be retiring as a Non-Executive Director at the end of 21 February 2017.
Michael Fraser, Chairman of APA Group said, “Board renewal has been a key priority for us and, after an extensive search process, the Board is very pleased to announce the appointment of our two new Non-Executive Directors. Shirley and Peter have a wealth of experience and expertise that will complement our existing Board as APA Group seeks to navigate the opportunities and challenges facing the energy market.”
Shirley In’t Veld is currently a Non-Executive Director with Northern Stars Resources Limited and NBN Co Limited and Deputy Chair of CSIRO. She is formerly a Non-Executive Director of Perth Airport, DUET Group, Asciano Limited, Alcoa of Australia Limited and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia. She was also the Managing Director of Verve Energy (2007 – 2012) and, before that, she worked for 10 years in senior roles at Alcoa of Australia, WMC Resources Ltd, Bond Corporation and BankWest.
Peter Wasow is currently a Non-Executive Director with Oz Minerals Limited and the privately held GHD Group. He is formerly a Non-Executive Director of Alumina Limited, Alcoa of Australia Limited, AWA Brazil Limitada and AWA LLC. He was Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Alumina (2014-2017) and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Santos Limited. Prior to that he had a 20-year plus career at BHP where he held senior positions including Vice President, Finance and other senior roles in Petroleum, Services, Corporate, Steel and Minerals both in Australia and the United States.
John Fletcher has been a Director since February 2008 and was also a Director for the period 2000 to 2005. On John Fletcher’s retirement, the Chairman said “During John’s time on the Board, he has made a truly valued contribution, particularly as Chairman of the People & Remuneration Committee. The Board sincerely thanks John for his service to APA as a Director.”
